Time to envelope yourself in something soft and warm! NUAN is the label of Irish-born designer Caoimhe Ryan, and it offers unique, 100 percent pure cashmere products, including undyed and unbleached “eco cashmere” yarn (cashmere in its raw colour). Cashmere is eight times warmer than standard sheep’s wool and a third lighter, as well as being stylish and environmentally friendly. NUAN’s signature Coco Collection has designs that marry intrecciato, or basket-woven knit, with accent fringing. It’s common for customers to end up owning a range of colours and pieces, because they love the style and versatility. Caoimhe says she believes in the notions of “slow fashion” and “investment dressing”: in short, purchasing less clothing, but choosing high-quality items made with great care that can be worn for years. Another core aspect of the brand’s ethos is that we all should give back, so NUAN regularly supports charities such as Watchdog (HK) and Sanctuary for Families (NYC).

The Girl with the Green Bag: “London’s weather is unpredictable – but it’s fashion is always on point. In unpredictable weather it is a necessity to have a versatile cashmere piece – that can keep you warm and looking fashionably chic. I have always struggled with finding a cashmere brand that could provide me with a modern statement piece and the quality that I desired…” Read More

Jiawa Liu: “It’s fascinating how we approach work-life balance of our wardrobes in completely different ways. My mother, for example, seldom buys anything unless it passes the test of ‘can I wear this to work?’ This makes perfect sense, of course, for someone who happily defines herself by her career. Whereas for yours truly, who believes off-duty days are when one can truly indulge in personal style, the polar opposite criterion of ‘can I wear this on the weekend’, applies…” Read More

In other news, how cayyyute is this house we shot at? My reinvention of wearing luxurious NUAN Cashmere as a little black suit absolutely popped in this location. I wasn’t even cold because of the 100% cashmere Coco pieces, cute right? I did a little shoot with them last week that will be in the Herald Sun tomorrow, can’t wait to see me and my gorgeous friend Sanchia sporting the knit dress look! Read More

Jiawa Liu: “Fashion Week, being the the year’s single biggest congregation of the Australian fashion industry, naturally presents a very much welcome opportunity to dress up to one’s heart’s content, and to wear all those amazing pieces you’ve collected throughout the year, that are unfortunately lost on your usual supermarket crowd. Outfits are planned weeks or even months in advance, with some setting their styling cogs turning since the previous year’s event. So where does one start to decide on what to wear? Here are some strategies I’ve learned to build a fashion week wardrobe.” Read More

Gallant Army: “It’s been a crazy few weeks for each one of us. With summer ended and Autumn settling in, the days are shorter. Meaning we’re having to make the most of our time. Taking this thought literally; we found ourselves on an early morning drive out to the vineyards of Mount Tamborine, a region well-known for its scenic views extending out across the Gold Coast hinterlands to Brisbane.
